Damian at 10 months

This cute little curly-haired monster just turned 10 months old. TIme flew faster this time around, our baby ball is going to be a toddler in just 2 months!
So, before he outgrows my memory of what he can currently do, let me share with you some feats this little one has mastered in this length of time.
1. Crawl. This is his most efficient skill in terms of getting himself to different parts of the house. He rules the floor! When Datu left for Sydney mid-month of last April, he could barely move. He just dragged himself around by creeping and would only get slightly beyond a foot or so. 2 months after, he gets himself around in a breeze. Now, he and Diego always enjoy race-crawling (also aptly called suyod-suyod because it is exactly what they do - they suyod dirt off the floor from all that crawling).
2. Cruise. Aside from being on all fours, Damian also gets around on his feet by cruising. As long as he has something to hold on to, he’ll cross from one piece of furniture to another and explore the room on foot. I particularly enjoy watching him cruise around the bed, which stands up to his neck. All that remains visible is his head, making it appear like there’s a cute little ball of fur marching along our bed’s perimeter.
3. Balance and Squat. Damian has also mastered balancing on his feet. What he does is he gets himself into standing position by holding on to something, then he lets go of what he’s holding and balances well for as long as one full minute. When he’s confident about the balance, he slowly bends his knees and squats without falling over.
4. Supported Walk. If you hold his hand, Damian would slowly walk so he could maintain his balance. We have been doing some practice walking since he was 4 months old, but back then, we would hold him under his armpits. Now, all we need to do is hold him by the hand (even just one hand) and he would do the rest on his own.
5. First Step. And if he’s really really brave that day, he’d take one step without any support whatsoever then he’d fall down, pick himself up and start all over.

Other physical feats include clapping his hands (which he learned and mastered last night. In fact, he missed his bed time because he was practicing putting his hands together), rolling a ball, bouncing a ball, and feeding/holding his own bottle.
He refuses to eat baby food. He dislikes it especially when he sees regular food on the talbe. So, we’ve skipped buying him cereals and other baby food and just serve him what the rest of the family is having, with less seasoning of course.
Damian also has a few tricks up his sleeve.
1. High-five and Align, which he always does happily when asked to.
2. The classic Close-Open but only when he’s in the mood.
3. Flying Kiss that doesn’t fly (his hand gets stuck on his lips).
4. Beautiful Eyes performed not on command, but when he wants to charm someone.
5. Hello?, done by putting his hand on his ear.
His days are also spent with a lot of singing and dancing. He just couldn’t refuse to sway, clap and bounce around when he hears music.
Quite an active baby Damian is. His feats came a month, even 2 months, earlier than that of Diego when he was Damian’s age. At the rate he’s going, we wouldn’t be surprised if he’s already running by the time he turns 1!
